THE VENUE
Situated on the Michael Line, with Glastonbury Tor visible in the distance, the exhibition unfolds inside the historic barn restored by Sir Michael Eavis. Once struck by lightning and left in ruins, the building stands as a site of reawakening.
The Pilton Tithe Barn sits at the heart of the Vale of Avalon overlooking King’s Hill and the sacred grounds of Glastonbury Festival. Originally built in the 14th century to store produce for Glastonbury Abbey, the barn was restored by Sir Michael Eavis and reopened in 2005 following decades of ruin.
Its commanding position within the Somerset landscape makes it a uniquely resonant setting for INNER LANDSCAPE, an exhibition deeply rooted in ideas of memory, land, ancestry and belonging.

Luke and Lilith create work inspired by the landscape in which they live and work, while also sharing their practice collaboratively through installations and music, which in turn feed back into the artwork itself.
At its centre is a monumental oak tree sculpture, first created for one of the Pipers’ Glastonbury Festival stages, surrounded by sound works and live performance from musicians within the TREE SONICS collective.

ALCHEMY OF PAINT
Experimental Painting Workshops – June 2026
with Lilith

ALCHEMY OF PAINT
Experimental Painting Workshops, June 2026
with Lilith
Step into a space of exploration, intuition, and material discovery.
I am an artist deeply engaged with materiality. Through the alchemy of paint and water, I explore how experimental atmospheres emerge and where movement and sensation meet.
These workshops are an invitation to explore your own visual language. Through experimentation, you will develop new approaches to painting and a deeper connection to your creative voice.
They are open to all creatives, including those who feel they are not able to express themselves.
Location
Workshops will take place in a beautiful 14th century tithe barn in Pilton, offering a spacious environment where scale and freedom of movement are encouraged. We can explore the dance of painting. We will also work outdoors, drawing inspiration from the surrounding woodland and landscape.
Workshops:
13 June, Ages 10 to 13
14 June, Ages 14 to 19
15 June, Adults, intermediate, for those familiar with paint
16 June, Adults, beginners, for those new to painting
What to Expect
We will explore:
Movement, colour, and expressive mark making
Sensitivity, intuition, and playfulness with paint
Large scale immersive painting and developing a personal visual language
Shape of the Day
Morning
10:00 to 10:30 Intro
10:30 to 11:30 Beginning with observational studies outside to awaken the senses and warm up
11:30 to 12:30 Exploring mark making and movement in the barn
Afternoon
12:30 to 1:30 Lunch break
1:30 to 5:00 Working directly from the observational drawings from earlier, experimenting with paint to access the inner landscape
We will not be limited by scale. We can create immersive works if desired, using water based pigments and large paper.
Throughout the day, we aim to move beyond representation by noticing rhythms in water, shadows, and reflections, finding the essence of the subject rather than simply recording what we see, in order to evolve toward a more abstract, elemental visual language.
All materials are provided. Just bring yourself and some lunch. There is a kitchen, with tea and coffee available all day.
1 to 1 Studio Sessions, Somerset
I also offer one to one sessions in my studio, immersed in the hills and out in the lanes. Contact me to arrange a time that works for you, either a morning or afternoon session of four hours.
These sessions are an opportunity to go deeper into your personal process, working closely with your individual way of seeing and making. We will be working with paint and image.
Prices
All workshops are £120, with 8 places available on each workshop.
One to one workshop £250
