Co-directors Lilith Piper and Joya Berrow explore the ritual and instinct of birds through human movement for the experimental short film BIRD. Shot over winter in Somerset and Dorset, the 16mm black and white film captures the textures and atmosphere of the British landscape, as a small flock of dancers echo the shapes of murmuration, migration, and wintering. Part myth, part performance, Piper and Berrow shape a quiet, sensorial meditation on our relationship with nature, and the profound connection between humans and the creatures we share our home with.
